Basil Zahed FIIC, AIIC, CRM

Basil has been in the insurance industry for over 39 years. After studying in Cape Town, South Africa and Beirut, Lebanon, Basil graduated from university with a major in business marketing. He began his insurance career working in Athens, Greece for an offshore insurer handling losses in the Middle East and settling claims with London insurers. Basil then moved to Yemen to establish the insurance program on an oil pipeline.

Basil is a firm believer in continuing education and, once he immigrated to Canada in 1987, he completed his AIIC, FIIC and CRM designations within five years. He works with Crawford’s Global Technical Services division primarily handling transportation losses, serious bodily injury issues and complex casualty claims
